PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
Non-hazardous defoamer is a specially formulated additive that rapidly eliminates and prevents foam in water-based industrial systems without posing transport or storage hazards. It is available in both powder and liquid forms to suit different production environments. The powder grade appears as a free-flowing white to off-white granule with high active content, low dust, easy dosage and long shelf stability, while the liquid grade is a milky-white low-viscosity emulsion that disperses instantly and gives quick foam-killing performance. By lowering the surface elasticity of foam films, the active components cause bubbles to rupture as soon as they form, so foam is controlled from the source rather than merely suppressed afterwards. This working mechanism ensures stable production, accurate metering, clean surfaces and smooth downstream operations, even in high-speed filling, stirring and pumping processes where foam generation is the most aggressive. Its non-hazardous classification means the product is neither flammable, corrosive nor toxic, meeting the requirements for ordinary cargo transport, simplified labelling and safe storage. This is especially valuable for export and multi-region supply, where regulatory documentation, customs clearance and warehouse management are greatly simplified. The defoamer shows excellent compatibility with most water-based emulsions, dispersions, surfactants and thickeners. It does not cause precipitation, viscosity jump or colour change when added within the recommended dosage, and it leaves no oily residue, whitening spots or film defects on finished surfaces. It remains active under a wide temperature range, from cold mixing to hot processing, and keeps its performance after repeated heating and cooling cycles. Typical applications cover architectural and industrial water-based paints, printing inks, adhesives, paper coating slurries, textile dyeing baths, detergents, water treatment, cutting fluids and agrochemical formulations. In every field it improves production efficiency, reduces defects, lowers foam-related rejects and helps customers achieve higher output with lower cost. Strict quality control on every batch ensures consistent surface tension, active content and foam-breaking speed. Our technical team can adjust the powder-to-liquid ratio, particle size, emulsifier system and dosage range to match your specific formula. With stable supply capacity and full COA, TDS and MSDS documentation, we support long-term partnership for coating, chemical, construction and water-treatment manufacturers worldwide.

POINTS FOR ATTENTION

ORDER INSTRUCTIONS
1. Confirm Product Grade and Specification Please tell us your application field, base system, target foam level and production temperature. We will recommend the most suitable grade, such as general powder, rapid liquid, high-temperature or low-VOC grade, and confirm the required dosage range.
2. Provide Quantity and Packaging Requirements Available packaging includes 25 kg paper-plastic composite bags for powder, 25 kg / 200 L plastic drums and IBC tanks for liquid, plus export cartons. We can customise labels, palletisation and outer packaging to meet your destination market.
3. Confirm Delivery and Logistics Please provide the delivery port or destination address. Because the product is classified as non-hazardous, ordinary container shipment applies, which simplifies customs clearance and reduces freight cost. We will confirm lead time and loading plan.
4. Quality Assurance and After-sales Support Every batch is supplied with COA, TDS and MSDS. If performance deviation occurs under recommended conditions, our technical team will assist with re-testing, dosage adjustment and formula fine-tuning until your production runs smoothly.
Tip for Trial Order:
For new customers we recommend an initial trial order of 25–200 kg to verify foam-killing speed, compatibility and dosage in your real production line before mass procurement.
USAGE NOTES
Recommended Dosage:
The typical addition level is 0.1–0.5% based on the total formulation weight. Start with the lowest level and increase step by step until foam is fully controlled, to avoid overdosing which may affect film gloss or levelling.
Adding Method (Liquid Grade):
Pre-dilute the liquid defoamer with 2–3 times of water and add it slowly under moderate stirring. Adding during the mid-to-late stage of dispersion gives the best foam-killing result and avoids being worn out by excessive shear.
Adding Method (Powder Grade):
Add the powder together with dry powders during dry-blend mixing, or pre-disperse it in part of the water before the emulsion is introduced. Do not dump the full amount at once to avoid lumping.
Compatibility Test:
Before mass production, test compatibility with your emulsion, dispersant, thickener and pigment slurry. Pay attention to changes in viscosity, foam, colour, film gloss and long-term storage stability.
Storage and Handling:
Keep the product in a cool, dry and ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature. The recommended storage temperature is 5–35℃. Keep containers tightly closed after use to prevent moisture absorption for powder.
Operation Safety:
Although the product is non-hazardous, wear gloves and protective glasses during handling. Avoid direct contact with eyes and prolonged skin contact. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.

Formula Design Principle:
In paint systems use the defoamer together with dispersants and thickeners and fine-tune dosage by foam level. In high-speed or hot processes choose high-temperature grades. In sensitive products like detergents and food-contact systems, always select the low-VOC eco grade to protect final performance and compliance.
COMMON PROBLEMS IN DOWNSTREAM PRODUCTION
Persistent Foam That Returns After Defoaming When foam re-forms shortly after being killed, the defoamer may have been added too early and consumed by high shear, or the dosage is insufficient for the surfactant level in your system. Solution: Add the defoamer in the mid-to-late dispersion stage, increase dosage step by step, and verify the recommended grade matches your system's surfactant load.
Fish-eyes, Craters and Foam Marks on Coating Film Visible defects on the final paint film usually come from incompatibility between the defoamer and the emulsion, or from overdosing. Solution: Reduce the dosage, switch to the liquid rapid grade, and run a small compatibility test before mass production to confirm no film defects.
Foam in High-speed Filling or Circulating Ink Lines High-speed pumps and recirculation generate strong foam that normal grades cannot fully suppress, leading to dosing errors and inconsistent output. Solution: Use the rapid liquid grade added at the tank inlet, and install a slow-stirring zone or foam breaker before the metering pump.
Foam in Hot Processes (Pulping, Dyeing, Boiler Water) Above 60℃ most ordinary defoamers lose activity or break down, allowing foam to build up again during hot processing. Solution: Choose the DF-300 high-temperature grade which keeps activity under repeated heating, and add it just before the hot stage.
Reduced Foam Control After Storage of the Defoamer If the liquid defoamer separates or the powder absorbs moisture during storage, foam-killing performance drops noticeably. Solution: Store in sealed containers below 35℃, shake liquid drums well before use, and replace powder that has become lumpy or caked.
Overdosing Causing Gloss Loss or Whitening Adding too much defoamer can cause surface whitening, reduced gloss or poor levelling on finished paint. Solution: Start at the lowest recommended level (0.1%), increase only as needed, and balance foam control against film appearance.
Foam in Detergent or Cleaning Lines Strong surfactants in detergents produce stubborn foam that reduces washing efficiency and causes overflow. Solution: Use the low-VOC eco grade at a controlled dosage so foam is suppressed without weakening cleaning power.
Incompatibility Causing Viscosity Jump or Precipitation A wrong defoamer can react with the thickener or dispersant, causing sudden viscosity increase, flocculation or precipitation. Solution: Run a full compatibility test with your complete formula, and switch grade or reduce dosage if viscosity or stability changes.
